We signed up to start this crazy adoption process again last August, when Meg turned 2. We were presented several opportunities through our agency, some of which we said no and some of which we were not chosen for. In December, a birthmother chose us for a baby boy due 2/3. We started getting a few things ready and preparing for a possible second child. We learned the hard way the first time that anything can happen when it comes to adoption, so we took things a little more slowly this time. Long story short, we suffered another failed adoption (a pretty weird and sticky one).
Less than two weeks later, this beautiful little guy was sitting at Baylor Hospital needing a home. We found out about him on a Saturday and went to pick him up on a Monday. We love, love that his story is so similar to his big sister. We got them both after failed adoptions. We had two days to really prepare for them both. And, they both were drop ins at their hospitals. What a gift that they can always have that connection of their stories. We are truly blessed to have begun this crazy life of a family of four!
Like his sister, he truly was hand picked for us straight from up above. A little, beautiful angel to complete our family.
Now we enter the 6 month process of waiting for our adoption to be finalized! Praying all goes smoothly.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, congratulations! I am so happy for you! I live how God writes such beautiful and creative stories that give us better testimonies. Someday I'll have to get more details from you--my husband and I plan to adopt and we love hearing stories about other peoples' experiences.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy time with your little man!
